How long is the race?
73 miles / 117km.

When is the race?
Saturday October 5, 2019.

Is it a closed course?
Safety and quality is our #1 priority so the course will have major intersections closed and the remaining will be a rolling closed course with help from the federal and municipal police.

Are time trial bikes allowed (tt bikes)?
They MUST have brakes with no aero bars.

How do I get my things from the starting line to the finish line?
We provide a free bag drop at the starting line and will transport it to the finish line where you can pick up.

Do I need a passport?
Yes, traveling back into the United States, you are required to show your passport.

Do I need car insurance?
Yes, traveling in Mexico with your vehicle, you are required to have insurance. Please visit www.bajabound.com for quality quick insurance.

Is this a Race?!?
Yes but a fun ride as well, we created a competitive race with prizes and medals but all levels of cyclists are encouraged to join for the granfondo and just ride the course at their pace. Please note there is a 6 hour cutoff time.

Who is considered a first responder?
For the 15% off first responder discount, you must be able to show proof that you are law enforcement, a firefighter, or a paramedic.

What do I get for my fee?

I just started cycling and I am not that fast, is this race still for me?
Absolutely, rider's start time will be determined by their projected finish time. So do not worry, all levels of riders are encouraged to participate! Join our Strava club for some motivation!

Will there be a masters group?
Yes,  ages 65+ will be considered masters.

Will there be a beer garden?
Yes,  absolutely!  We will have local craft breweries and wineries for your thirsty needs! We even get a beer put in your hand the second you cross, how bout that?

Do all finishers get medals?
Yes,  medals will be presented to all riders as they pass the finish line.

What is the prize money?
1st: $750 // 2nd: $500 // 3rd $250 USD (Awarded to Female/Male with a total of $3000 USD).

***If prize purse issued via check; all checks must be deposited 180 days from date of issues. No re-issues.

How can we register?

Online or at point of sales throughout Baja California, Mexico.

When do I get my race bib?
Race bibs will be available for pick up at packet pick up or morning of race day.  It is highly recommended to pick up at the expo.

***Location and time to be posted closer to race day.

Can I get a refund or transfer my registration?
No refunds for this event.  All sales are final. If you have purchased and can not make it, you can transfer to another person ($10 fee).  Last day to transfer is Sept 22, 2019.

Active duty military members who are unable to participate because they are unexpectedly deployed may receive a refund. To qualify you must submit a copy of your official military orders along with a written request no later than 10 days prior to event day.

Is this the same route from the early 70’s?
Yes, our route is similar to the previous one but we are not associated with the Monday International fun ride.  With newly paved roads and a gorgeous wine country, it creates a challenging and fun experience.
